Food Science and Human Nutrition Summer School
Thursday June 6th, 9.00am-4.00pm
What happens on the day?
The Food Science and Human Nutrition programmes at UCD are two very popular degree choices and are increasingly relevant to society as we all become more aware of the importance of producing safe, nutritious, sustainable food and the link between nutrition and health.
Food Science considers the scientific aspects of food products and how they are manufactured while Human Nutrition looks at the interaction of the food we eat on health. The UCD Food Science and Human Nutrition Summer School is an excellent opportunity to learn more about these two exciting programmes and the many career opportunities open to graduates.
On arrival the Dean of Agriculture, will welcome you and provide an overview of the UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science, the various programmes taught at the school and some of the highlights of our programmes such as the opportunity to Study Abroad and Professional Work Experience. You will have an opportunity to hear from some of our current and past students who will share their experience of studying at the school and we will discuss the wide range of career opportunities open to graduates.
During the day you will meet staff from the school, take a tour of the labs and take part in various activities relevant to the programmes such as Sensory Analysis, Nutrition Trivia and much more.
You will also receive a tour of the UCD campus and have an opportunity to find out about other programmes available at the UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science.
