day-2-2020

Art History Virtual Summer School

Wednesday June 9th, 1pm-2pm (Irish Standard Time)

In our session, we’ll explore what you will study as a UCD Art History student – from works of classical antiquity, medieval Irish art, the Islamic world, art of the Renaissance, Georgian Dublin, to modernism and contemporary art. In addition to an overview of the School, our featured ‘mini lecture’ will answer the intriguing question ‘Why are there no photographs of the Irish Famine?’, through an exploration of 19th century  Irish art and visual culture.
